Jeff McFarland moved to Northern Virginia from Pittsburgh, PA. He studied industrial technology at Millersville University and proceeded to work at R.R. Donnelly the nation’s largest commercial printer as an electronic systems operator. Passionate about digital media and people, the move to teaching digital graphics at Manassas City Public Schools was a natural fit. Selected by MCPS to participate in a leadership program Jeff earned his Master’s in Leadership and Policy from University of Virginia. Looking to make a greater impact Jeff accepted the Trade and Industrial Coordinator position in Fairfax County Public Schools and then Academy Administrator at Marshall High School in 2003. Marshall Academy is a leading cybersecurity educational training program in the area, four time CyberPatriot national finalist, recognized as a Center of Excellence by Air Force Association, and in 2013 named a Governor’s STEM Academy.
