Culinary Courses

Do you enjoy cooking?  Have you always wanted to work in a professional kitchen?  Learn all about the culinary industry in our 5 Star Kitchen!  Class time is spent learning culinary techniques while gaining experience working in a professional kitchen. 

This course is dedicated to providing students a working knowledge of classical culinary techniques. Through lecture, hands-on work, and projects the students will learn the skills needed for a career in the food service industry. Training in sanitation, hot food production, meat identification and fabrication, pantry, breakfast cookery, purchasing, and basic culinary skills is offered. Curriculum also includes culinary math, field trips, and competitive events.

Culinary Arts 1 (2 Credit) Open to 10th, 11th & 12th graders

Culinary Arts 2 (2 Credits) Open to 11th & 12th graders

Instructor

Chef Devlin trained in the Gresham Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. He studied Culinary Arts and fulfilled an apprenticeship at Cathal Brugha Hotel and Restaurant School. Chef Devlin is honored as a Certified Executive Chef by the American Culinary Federation. He is also qualified as a Ships Cook and Chief Cook. His most recent position was the Executive Chef at The Tower Club in Tysons Corner for 13 years. The Tower Club is a fine dining facility for executives and their guests.
